This Apple and Chocolate mousse is one of the easiest desserts one can make. It needs just three ingredients and is ready in minutes. I loved it and literately and unashamedly wolfed it down!

I was craving for some dessert the other day after a long time. I planned to make something but didn’t want to spend much time on it as I was a bit tired. The eyes fell upon the apples that were almost going off in the heat, so grabbed them and the dark chocolate bar I bought the other day. I also decided to add some nuts, and in this instance I used some cashew nuts.

It set beautifully and the texture was just right, not too firm or soft. Also, it is not too sweet, so, a perfect dessert if your preference is of the less sweet variety.

Apples-

Make sure to use sweeter versions of apples for a better taste.

HOPE-Some day, the ‘mekhela sador'(traditional Assamese attire) will be draped again, the feet will tap, and the body will sway to the Bihu beats. After all, hope is what keeps one going. Until then, I will turn up the Bihu music and sway a little cautiously to the beats, in my kitchen, enjoy the spring blooms at home and nearby, and make and relish the very mini version of my usual Bihu treats. To all who are celebrating, a very Happy Rongali Bihu and Assamese New Year, Shubho Naboborsho, Vishu and Baisakhi. May the hope of a better tomorrow always prevail!🤞🏻🌸🌸..........#bihu #bihudance #assamese #bihusnacks #assamesenewyear #PoilaBoishakh #vishu #Baisakhi #indianinuk #assameseinuk #transplant #transplantstories #transplantlife #northeastindian #northeast #blogger #fodblogger #foodblog #homemade #homecooking #FestiveCooking #hope #notgivingup See MoreSee Less

Apple and chocolate mousse

A quick and easy dessert- tasty and ready in minutes.
Course chilled dessert, Dessert

Ingredients

  • 2 large apples ( the sweeter the better), washed and chopped
  • 130 gms of dark chocolate
  • a small handful of cashew nuts + a little extra chopped for garnishing

Instructions

  • Add the chopped apples to a bowl and cook n the microwave till soft. When poked with a knife, it should easy pierce it. Give it a shake a couple of times. In my microwave, it took about 3½ minutes for the apples to soften.
  • Remove and keep aside to cool a little.
  • Break or chop the chocolate into pieces into a bowl and microwave till melted. Let it cool for about 10 minutes.
  • Add the soft apple to a blender along with the chocolate and cashew nuts and blend well.
  • Spoon into serving bowls and garnish on top with the chopped cashew nuts. I got three generous servings.
  • Chill in the refrigerator for at least an hour or till nicely set.
  • Enjoy!
